December 5th – MICE, the cinema festival organized by Museo do Pobo Galego in Santiago de Compostela, will hold its 19th edition from March 20th to 26th, 2024. For this edition, the MICE opens the registration period for films that want to opt for the official selection. The festival has four awards all selected films opt for and a specific award for Galician films.
The chosen topic for this 19th MICE is “thinking politics from an ethnographic approach” According to the organization, this nineteen edition focuses on the richness the ethnographic perspective can bring to political analysis and on the approach to the categories and practices of the social world: contexts in which the analyzed events take place; links with the educational, economic or religious spheres; the everyday dimension of politics in the spaces where people live, where significances about it are created, and where personal relationships and experiences are built; relationship between subjects and state and its derivations, and rituals and symbolic power in politics.
The call for entries will be opened from December 6th, 2023, to January 10th, 2024, and registration can be done through the platforms Clickforfestivals, Festhome and Filmfreeway.
